WHAT: Singers/Songwriters Freedy Johnston and David Mead are
scheduled to perform and sign autographs at the South Street
Seaport on Thursday, August 9, at 6:00 p.m.
WHO: Over the past decade Freedy Johnston has quietly emerged as
one of the most significant songwriters of our generation.
His 1990 album The Trouble Tree led to the release of a
second album in 1992 entitled Can You Fly. Freedy followed up
his success with This Perfect World that produced the U.S.
hit "Bad Reputation" in 1994. His recent album Right Between
the Promises will be released on August 7, and its first
single will be "Love Grows."
David Mead is a brilliant singer, songwriter and musician who
began playing music in 1986. In 1989 he began playing clubs
in Nashville and Orlando with local bands where he was
noticed and signed by RCA. His debut album, The Luxury of
Time, was released in September of 1999. The first single off
of the album was World of A King, which was featured on the
film soundtrack for Boys and Girls. David's recent album,
Mine and Yours, was released during the summer of 2000.
