WHAT: The Cub Foods Midway store will host local celebrities as they
battle for top grilling honors and support Second Harvest
Heartland food bank on June 19 at RanchFest. To launch Rancher's
Preferred -- a new brand of heartland-raised, USDA Choice Black
Angus beef--celebrities will compete in the cook-off by
preparing their favorite beef recipes. Cub Foods will donate
$100 on behalf of each celebrity participant and $500 in the
name of the winning celebrity to Second Harvest Heartland food
bank. Celebrity grillers' entrees will be judged by a panel of
three distinguished chefs from renowned Twin Cities restaurants.
Also, $100 will be donated to the food bank on behalf of each
      judge.

Open to the public, RanchFest attendees will learn grilling
ideas from their favorite local celebrities, sample Rancher's
Preferred beef products and participate in a variety of
games--including a mooing contest. Kids will participate in
watermelon seed-spitting and corn-shucking contests. Contest
winners will receive $500, $100 and $50 Cub Foods gift cards and
other prizes. RanchFest also will include a petting zoo,
      featuring friendly farm animals.

The "Gurus of Grilling" contest will officially be kicked off at
RanchFest. The contest is a search for the Twin Cities' best
amateur grilling gurus, who will compete for top grilling
honors. Consumers may enter the "Gurus of Grilling" contest at
any of Minnesota's 49 Cub Foods stores. Finalists will face each
other in a grilling contest in late July for the title "Guru of
Grilling." First, second and third-place winners will receive
valuable prizes, including an all-expense-paid trip to a Dude
      Ranch in the Wild West.

Rancher's Preferred Black Angus Beef is steakhouse quality, 100
percent USDA Choice beef raised exclusively in the heartland.
Rancher's Preferred is available at Cub Foods stores beginning
      June 20.
