    WHO: Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix -- the fifth book
        in the J.K. Rowling series -- goes on sale at all rural Sam
        Goody stores at 8:00 a.m., Saturday, June 21. The book will
        retail at Sam Goody stores for $17.97 --over 40 percent off
        the suggested retail price.

    WHAT: The early store opening will allow fans to get one of the
        first copies of this 886 page book. With Scholastic printing
        6.5 million copies, this is the largest first print of any
        book in history and the biggest book phenomenon of the year.

        Rural Sam Goody stores will host a variety of games,
        activities and give-aways from 8 a.m. to 11 a.m. on Saturday,
        June 21 to honor the release of the book. All other Harry
        Potter books will be 25 percent off and all regularly priced
        books will be 15 percent off the publisher's price.

        Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix is also available
        for sale on the Sam Goody Web site at www.samgoody.com.

        To date the stores within the Musicland chain (Sam Goody,
        Media Play and Suncoast) have had over 50,000 reservations for
        this book. Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix is
        available in Sam Goody mall stores by reservation only.

        a.m. for the sale of the book.
