What: Best Buy, North America's leading specialty retailer of
digital technology and entertainment products, will relocate
the Joliet store that opened in 1992. Sunday evening doors of
the Joliet location at 1500 North Larkin will close in
preparation of a move that will take Best Buy to 3351 Mall
Loop Drive across from Louise Joliet Mall.
The move of nearly 30,000 square-feet of electronics products
is scheduled to take approximately four days, however 90
percent of the move will occur on Monday. Two 18-wheeler
semi-trucks will transport the electronic products to new
store design highlighting techno-tainment.
The new 45,000 square-foot Joliet location will celebrate its
grand opening on Friday, June 14th at 10 a.m. The store
incorporates the most recent Best Buy store design, which was
created to enhance the customer's shopping experience.
Features of the new design include customers flowing through a
single-line checkout, wider aisles for better traffic flow,
and a transaction center to help with complex purchases such
as home theater systems.
