    What: Best Buy, North America's leading specialty retailer of
        digital technology and entertainment products, will open its
        doors at 10 a.m. on Friday, Nov. 1 to Yakima-area shoppers.
        The store located at 2321 South First St. near Valley Mall,
        features a new store design highlighting techno-tainment.

        Dedicated to being a true "good neighbor", Best Buy works with
        a number of non-profit organizations that can link Best Buy
        support and resources to communities where Best Buy stores are
        located. Children and families in Yakima are now eligible to
        be involved in a number of Best Buy/non-profit relationships,
        including those with the United Way, Junior Achievement and

        The Yakima store is one of approximately 67 new retail
        locations Best Buy will open across the country in 2002.

    When: Friday, Nov. 1
          9:30 a.m.

        Janice Marton, general manager of Best Buy, will present a
        $10,000 check to the United Way of Yakima County.

        10 a.m.

        The Best Buy Mascot will burst through the grand opening
        ribbon to inaugurate the new store.
