Philadelphia rock band Silvertide, having just inked its record
deal with J Records, will go out with one last bang before entering
the recording studio to create their debut album. The band who's been
called the next greatest American rock n' roll band is single-handedly
paving a path for the return of classic rock, complete with the first
guitar hero to come along in years. If you don't believe me, see what
Philadelphia's best writers are saying...
"18 year old lead singer Walt Lafty's wavy, shoulder-length hair
make him look as if he's been beamed from Rolling Stone's "Random
Notes" circa 1974."
TOM MOON, PHILADELPHIA INQUIRER
"They're disciples of the Church of the Power Chord in whose songs
shopworn classic-rock elements are reborn as signifiers of a wild,
feral, renegade life."
TOM MOON, PHILADELPHIA INQUIRER
"Silvertide..pounded out a set of primal rock that put the Philly
band in the same league as the main-stagers (AEROSMITH)."
A.D. AMOROSI, PHILADELPHIA INQUIRER
"You'd have to go all the way back to the Hooters to find a Philly
rock band that put the city on the musical map. That may change with
the recent signing of teen-angst rockers Silvertide to Clive Davis' J
Records."
PHILADELPHIA WEEKLY
"These guys have an arena rock presence...obviously teetering on
the edge of something huge!"
