Forum Will Explore Tort Reform Arguments

WHAT:  Expert panelists will discuss the direction civil courts should
       take to protect the rights of defendants and plaintiffs during
       a forum entitled "Tort Reform Wars: The Future of the Civil
       Jury System in a Litigious Nation" presented by The Economic
       Club of Chicago.

       Among the issues to be addressed: How has the fear of lawsuits
       changed American society? What role will tort reform play in
       the 2004 presidential campaign? Should caps be put on
       court-awarded damages to victims? What has happened to doctors'
       insurance premiums in states with damage caps? Should trial
       lawyers face sanctions for filing frivolous cases?
