--"Is Data Privacy Possible? A 360 degree View"

This session will survey the subject of data privacy and patient protection from three diverse perspectives - technology, healthcare, and the European regulatory environment. Michael Owings will deliver a presentation entitled, "EDC and the HIPPA Security Rule." Wednesday, June 29, 8:30 AM.

--"The Use of Multilingual MedDRA in a Global Environment"

The session will focus on the need within global pharmaceutical companies to ensure that the translation of clinical, safety, and product information data from international studies is done to the highest standard and consistency, so that the underlying meaning of the data is not compromised. With the availability of sophisticated technologies and the introduction of multilanguage versions of MedDRA, the whole process of translation can be significantly improved. Robbert Van Manen will deliver a presentation entitled, "A Multilingual Data Management and Coding Environment: Technical and Functional Requirements." Thursday, June 30, 8:30 AM.

In addition to these DIA sponsored sessions, Phase Forward will host a complimentary workshop titled, "Supporting CDISC Standards in Phase Forward's Product Suite." The workshop will highlight how Phase Forward applications support the use of CDISC standards throughout the clinical data management process. Robbert Van Manen will demonstrate how Phase Forward's solutions can be used to collect data electronically or on paper directly into an SDTM-based schema; how to load lab data via a staging area per CDISC LAB standard; and, how to extract data directly to SAS, or in CDISC ODM format.
