TOPIC: A petition filed by Public Citizen, a consumer and health advocacy
group, along with the Committee of Interns and Residents, the American Medical
Student Association and others is calling for the Occupational Safety and
Health Administration to set limits on the hours per week in which medical
residents work. According to an article by The Associated Press, many residents
reportedly work from 95 to 136 hours per week, which puts them at risk of
depression and auto accidents. The petition suggests that the work week for
