ADVISORY/Pete Rose to Appear at Local Media Play Store January 22; Rose to Sign Copies of His Book, ``My Prison without Bars''.

        WHAT: Former Cincinnati Reds player and manager Pete Rose
            returns to his hometown to sign copies of his book, "My
            Prison Without Bars" at the Western Hills Plaza Media Play
            store, Thursday, Jan. 22, at noon. Fans who pre-purchased
            "My Prison Without Bars" through January 8 at Media Play,
            will have priority line position at the event. The
            appearance will conclude Rose's book tour and is the last
            opportunity for local fans to have his book signed.

            Named "Rookie of the Year" in 1963, Rose's baseball career
            spanned 25 years. During his career, he won three World
            Series championships, was named "World Series Most
            Valuable Player," "Sports Illustrated Sportsman of the
            Year" and "The Sporting News Man of the Year." Rose made
            baseball history when he broke Ty Cobb's all-time major
            league hit record of 4,191. Rose retired as a player after
            the 1986 season but continued as the Reds' manager until
            1988.

    WHEN: Thursday, Jan. 22, noon
          Store will open at 6 a.m. for fans to purchase the book and
          line up

    WHERE: Media Play- Western Hills Plaza

           Cincinnati, Ohio

    SPONSORS: Attendees can enjoy appetizers during the event provided
        by Maloney's Pubs. Rose memorabilia provided by Ideal Baseball

        provided by Rose's alma mater, Western Hills High School.
