ADVISORY/PeopleSoft Media Update; Texas Christian University Gets Wired with PeopleSoft for Higher Education eBusiness Solutions.Assignment Editors/Hi-Tech Writers ADVISORY... --(BUSINESS WIRE)
Who: PeopleSoft for Higher Education and Texas Christian University
What: PeopleSoft helps Texas Christian University meet demands for
improved information access, increased staff productivity, and
flexible student services with a technology path to the
future. "Our goal is to become one of the most efficient,
`wired' campuses in the country. And with PeopleSoft, we'll
make it," says Dave Edmondson, Assistant Provost. The
university replaced its legacy administrative systems with the
full suite of PeopleSoft eBusiness solutions for student
administration, financial management, and human resources.
"Using the PeopleSoft suite of Student Administration
applications, the university registered more than 7,500
students in 50 percent less time than usual via the Web,"
states Edmondson. "Our productivity has increased
dramatically. We're offering course catalogs, registration,
drop/add capabilities, grade reports, and financial balances
all on the Web. It's remarkable," he says.
"Because all PeopleSoft applications are designed with the
latest technology, our users have immediate access to just the
information they need, when they need it, and in the way they
need it," Edmondson comments. "We're communicating with
faculty, administrators, and students via email; processes
such as budget approvals are now handled electronically, and
posting financial aid to students' financial accounts once a
two-day process - is now instantaneous."
Texas Christian University reports, as a result of the
implementation of PeopleSoft for Higher Education:
-- Dramatic productivity gains
-- More efficient reporting for more effective decision making
-- Improved, flexible student services
-- Increased student recruiting and retention capabilities
"One of the reasons we chose to partner with PeopleSoft is its
toolset," states Edmondson. "UsingPeopleTools, we've created
applications, such as Residential Housing, Campus Police,
Health Center, and Alcohol and Drug Education, that are fully
integrated with our ERP applications. Next, we're going to
have every business process of the university delivered to
faculty, staff, and students via the Web," claims Edmondson.
