ADVISORY/Paraform Offers Free Version of Pointspolys.News Desks/High Tech Writers ADVISORY...for Friday Friday: see Sabbath; week. Friday young Indian rescued by Crusoe and kept as servant and companion. [Br. Lit.: Robinson Crusoe] See : Servant (Jan. 21) --(BUSINESS WIRE)
WHAT: Paraform, Inc., the leader in Digital Form Development(SM), is
offering a free version of its Points2Ploys(TM) functionality, a
key feature contained within the newly-released Paraform 1.5(TM)
software package. An outreach of Paraform's customer service
program, this stand-alone module will be available via Internet
download to qualified professionals.
Points2polys will enable users to rapidly and accurately
transform point cloud data from many sources to high quality
polygonal meshes.
By using Points2Polys, professionals can effectively reuse data
from a variety of different sources, including laser and optical
scanners, coordinate measuring machines, computed tomography and
magnetic resonance imaging systems, milling data, among others. This
easy-to-use approach offers flexibility and scalability to suit a
multitude of applications. Compared to alternative point cloud
processing tools, Point2Polys does the following:
-- Easily processes extremely large and complex data sets of
over one million points.
-- Completes the triangulation process in significantly less
time compared to existing products. (For example, in typical
tests, triangulation is now ten times faster and the created
polygonal meshes are more readily utilized without the need
for complicated post-processing.)
-- Processes multiple point clouds at once, eliminating the
need to work on pieces of the entire data set a little at a
time.
-- Allows for local or global triangulation, giving the user a
fine degree of control over the process while utilizing his
or her domain expertise.
-- Achieves the "right result" on the first iteration. By using
intelligent, vicinity-based analysis of regional geometry,
the software makes logical decisions about how to handle
complex or potentially confusing topology, preventing things
such as "webbing" and unintentional hole filling.
WHEN: Beginning January 21st, 2000
WHY: An introduction to Paraform's cutting-edge solutions, this unique
opportunity was created to offer designers and engineers
worldwide the ability to easily and inexpensively integrate point
cloud data into their 3D design and production process. Since
polygonal meshes allow for much faster and more accurate surface
creation, many of Paraform's existing customers have actively
embraced the company's Digital Form Development software.
Subsequently, they have asked for additional enhancements that
allow for the processing of more kinds of data with a greater
number of potential applications. With Points2Polys, Paraform is
breaking all barriers to use of this efficient and valuable
technique.
WHERE: Users may register for the free version of Points2Polys at the
