Paradigm Advanced Technologies, Inc.'s PowerLOC division announced today that it will be exhibiting in the Cellular Telecommunications & Internet Association (CTIA) annual event, the CTIA Wireless 2002 show, from March 18 to 20, 2002, to be held at the Orange County Convention Center The Orange County Convention Center (OCCC) is the primary public convention center in Central Florida. At this show, Paradigm will be introducing their latest breakthrough technology, a satellite personal location device (PLD (Programmable Logic Device) Refers to a variety of logic chips that are programmable at the customer's site, the customer being the vendor of the finished chip, not the end user. ) for indoor and outdoor use that will work in conjunction with the customer's current cell phone as well as with an Internet enabled server unit capable of locating up to a million people within seconds. Standard GPS enabled system receivers normally do not work inside of buildings.

The demand for location-based services See mobile positioning.  is quickly growing and the need to locate people during emergencies is paramount today, making PowerLOC's location service the perfect solution. The cell phone is the most ubiquitous mobile platform and location accessory and service is essentially available to customers now without the need for huge carrier infrastructure changes. PowerLOC's PLD technology upgrades some standard cell phones into an emergency communication device.
