WHAT: Parade of 14 tallships into the Port of Los Angeles.
Includes vessels from the Netherlands, New Zealand and Ukraine,
as well as those from the United States. The parade kicks off
the five-day Los Angeles Festival of Sail and is the first time
ever that so many tallships have come together in the Port of
Los Angeles.
WHEN: Friday, September 6, 2002
12:00 p.m. -- press boat leaves from Berth 84 in San Pedro. The
press boat offers a unique opportunity to get shots of the
parade from the water.
WHERE: Port of Los Angeles, Berth 84 (Thomas Guide page 824). Press
boat leaves from the right side of the Los Angeles Maritime
Museum, at the intersection of Sixth Street and Harbor Blvd. in
San Pedro.
WHO: Credentialed press may board the designated press boat between
11:30 a.m. and 12:00 noon. The press boat will leave the dock
at 12:00 noon sharp and will return by 2:00 p.m.
