The SD flash memory card, which can store audio, video, images and data, is targeted for widespread use in digital internet music players, cellular phones, digital cameras, handheld computers A computing device that can be easily held in one hand while the other hand is used to operate it. The three companies introduced the SD card in August 1999 with the goal of making the card an industry standard.
