WHAT: In support of raising awareness and the need for volunteers
and food donations at Palm Beach County designated free
lunch summer program sites, city officials, community
leaders and Florida congressional representatives will join
Office Depot and volunteer to serve children at various
summer lunch program feeding sites throughout Palm Beach
County.
Free summer lunch programs officially kick off this week.
Office Depot will also provide pencil pouches and snacks to
children and clowns will entertain children in Delray
Beach, Boca Raton and West Palm Beach.
The Palm Beach County Summer Free Lunch program is open to
any child under 18 years old living in Palm Beach County.
Parents may find the locations of the nearest site by

WHY: Hunger is a growing threat among working and unemployed
families across the nation. What's more, the problem is
more acute in the summer months when children don't have
access to school-based meals.
According to the Daily Bread Food Bank, 50% of the children
in Palm Beach County Elementary Schools participated in
free or reduced cost lunch programs this year.
