ADVISORY/Pacific Broadband Communications' Interactive CMTS Demos Show in Anaheim Western Attendees How To Boost RF Performance, Reduce Operational Costs.News/Assignment Editors The Western Show 2001 ADVISORY...for Wednesday-Friday (Nov. 28-30) --(BUSINESS WIRE)
WHAT: Pacific Broadband Communications will perform live
demonstrations to show cable operators the benefits of improved
RF performance in a cable modem termination system (CMTS).
Through a series of demonstrations, cable operators will learn
how to improve RF performance to enable more bandwidth, more
cable modems and more profits. The series of demonstrations
will showcase open access with MPLS, multiple DOCSIS channels
on a single upstream port, DOCSIS channels running in noisy and
distorted spectrum and ServiceGuard(TM) Spectrum Analysis
Software.
Cable operators can also utilize the "Network Planning Tool," an
interactive demonstration that allows cable operators to determine how
much CMTS equipment is needed to accommodate their specific network
requirements. Based on the Kodiak G10 M-CMTS, the interactive tool
shows cable operators how to reduce capital and operational expenses
by increasing bandwidth per chassis and supporting more cable modems
per CMTS.
HOW: The Kodiak G10 M-CMTS is the only carrier class, wirespeed
cable modem termination system that features an all-digital
receiver for 16 QAM, superior RF performance and the industry's
highest per port bandwidth. The CMTS "lights up dark RF" to
enable operators to run channels in 5-15 MHz and 38-42 MHz. It
supports more cable modems per CMTS, thereby providing a lower
CMTS cost on a per cable modem basis.
