ADVISORY...for April 24 (Thursday)

CLEVELAND--(BUSINESS WIRE)--April 7, 2003

Rodney Jenkins, Outgoing Chief Public Affairs Officer for the Office

of the Mayor, to speak on `Public Relations in City Government and

Maintaining Cultural Diversity'

The Greater Cleveland Chapter of the Public Relations Society of America (PRSA) is hosting a reception for current and prospective members on Thursday, April 24 from 5:30 - 7:30 p.m. at Eaton Corporation, 1111 Superior Avenue, Cleveland, Ohio.

As part of the Chapter's commitment to attract and retain members of the public relations community, the Multicultural Committee spearheaded this event to support its objectives within PRSA, which include supporting the leaders of the Chapter in building an organization that is inviting and inclusive for all members of the local public relations community, according to Montrie Rucker Adams, APR, co-chair of PRSA's Multicultural Committee and Director of Publications for the Cleveland Municipal School District. The group also aims to attract and involve professionals of diverse backgrounds with regard to age, gender, race, sexuality, religious preference, physical abilities, and other dimensions of difference.

The featured speaker for the evening will be Rodney Jenkins, who formerly held the position of Chief Public Affairs Officer for the Office of the Mayor. Although he has moved on from the Mayor's cabinet, he will speak on `Public Relations in City Government and Maintaining Cultural Diversity.'

Prior to joining the Campbell campaign, Jenkins was the Director of Communications for Cleveland City Council where he managed all internal and external communication for the 21-member council. He has served on many boards and is currently an active member of the Board of Governors of the Club at Key Center and the Minority Arts and Education Fund board.

"This reception is the perfect opportunity for public relations professionals to learn about the benefits of joining PRSA," said Chris Lynch, APR, president of the Chapter and Senior Vice President of Robert Falls & Co. "A variety of committee chairpersons will also be on-hand to provide details on how to get involved, as well as showcase the variety of programs available to members. In today's economy, the time is now to be involved in a professional organization like PRSA which provides networking opportunities, professional development seminars, and updates on key issues affecting the industry."

There is no cost to attend this event, however, RSVPs are required by email to dawnhanson@eaton.com. Please note `RSVP' in the subject line of the email. Additional information about this event, as well as other PRSA events, is available at http://www.prsacleveland.org.

The Public Relations Society of America (www.prsa.org), headquartered in New York City, is the world's largest professional organization for public relations professionals, with nearly 20,000 members, organized into 116 Chapters nationwide, who represent business and industry, counseling firms, government, associations, hospitals, schools, professional services firms and nonprofit organizations.
