) will present the second annual PPG Design Challenge Awards to students of Detroit's College for Creative Studies (CCS (1) (Common Channel Signaling) A communications system in which one channel is used for signaling and different channels are used for voice/data transmission. Signaling System 7 (SS7) is a CCS system, also known as CCS7. See SS7. ) on Wednesday, Jan. 9, at 2 p.m. at Cobo Center, Detroit, in Suite O2-33.

The awards recognize students' winning entries in a competition to design a luxury 2008-model vehicle for an affluent woman that uses glass to add safety and security as well as utility, comfort and convenience.

Ernest Hahn, PPG vice president, automotive glass, will present the awards. Also attending will be the judges for the competition, and CCS alumni: Mark Allen Mark Allen is the name of:

The demographic group on which CCS students based their designs was defined by J.D. Power and Associates, whose representatives also will attend.

Members of the media are invited to cover the awards presentation, and examine new PPG automotive glass and coatings technologies displayed for Supplier Preview Days Jan. 9-10 at the North American North American
