) announced the release of the industry's most optimized 10 gigabit system interface developed by the SATURN(R) Development Group. POS-PHY(TM) Level 4 provides an industry-accepted standard for multi service system interfaces supporting OC-192, 10 Gigabit Ethernet An Ethernet standard that transmits at 1 Gbps. Used mostly to connect high-end workstations and servers as well as for network backbones, Gigabit Ethernet transmits full duplex from point to point using switches and half duplex in a shared environment (CSMA/CD) using a hub.  and multi-channel 2.5 Gbit/s OC-48 and 622-Mbit/s OC-12 and Gigabit Ethernet as required by the new generation of super routers and layer 3 switches for multi service voice and data networks.
