WHAT: The Anderson School at UCLA will honor alum William Gross with
its prestigious Exemplary Leadership in Management award. Gross
will deliver keynote speech at the awards dinner. More than 400
business leaders, Anderson students and alumni are expected
to attend the dinner.
WHO: William Gross, chief investment officer, founder and managing
director of leading institutional money manager Pacific
Investment Management Company (PIMCO). Dubbed the "Baron of
Bonds" by "Barron's," Gross is widely considered to be the best
bond fund manager in the country, and has been recognized by
his peers as the most influential authority on the bond market.
Gross manages PIMCO's top-performing Total Return fund, the
largest bond fund in the world with more than $35 billion in
assets.
In 1997 he authored the book "Everything You've Heard about
Investing is Wrong!," released in both the United States and
Japan. Gross was recently inducted into the Fixed Income
Analyst's Society Hall of Fame for his major contributions to
the advancement of fixed-income analysis and portfolio
management.
