 Band of Mission Indians Mission Indians, Native Americans of S and central California; so called because they were under the jurisdiction of some 21 Spanish missions that were established between 1769 and 1823.  will present a $1 million check to the White Mountain Apache Tribe of Arizona in an effort to provide aid for the massive destruction caused by the largest wildfire in Arizona history.

Known as the Rodeo-Chediski, the fire has damaged 468,638 acres of the Fort Apache reservation and the Apache-Sitgreaves National Forest The Apache-Sitgreaves National Forest is a 2 million acre (8000 km²) National forest which runs along the Mogollon Rim and the White Mountains in east-central Arizona and extending into New Mexico, USA. , destroying 20 percent of the Apache reservation.

) urging Native American Tribes to help the White Mountain Apache Tribe, the San Manuel Band of Mission Indians immediately recognized the importance of helping another Tribe and felt compelled to make this generous donation.

The lost pine forests Pine forest may refer to:

  2. The town of Pine Forest, Texas
 that supported the timber industry represented the second biggest capital investment and the second largest source of jobs for the White Mountain Apache Tribe. Timber is essential to their Tribal community and this destruction has cost the Apache Tribe jobs and revenue that has resulted in an unnecessary struggle to meet Tribal needs.

The Tribe was forced to close its lumber lumber, term for timber that has been cut into boards for use as a building material. The major steps in producing lumber involve logging (the felling and preparation of timber for shipment to sawmills), sawing the logs into boards, grading the boards according to  mills and casino for a time, depriving the Tribe of crucial revenues used to fund vital government functions and programs.

The $1 million donation made by the San Manuel Band of Mission Indians will be utilized to refurbish re·fur·bish
