                  MEDIA ADVISORY / EXCELLENT VISUALS

WHAT: More than 1,000 students from 11 schools throughout Los Angeles
      will "think green" on Earth Day during the interactive Clean
      Energy Fair, which will culminate the 2002-03 Los Angeles
      Department of Water and Power (LADWP) "Green Power Hero" School
      Assembly Program. This program has reached 100,000-plus students
      on energy conservation, renewable energy and more.

      Hosted by Green Power Girl, the clean energy superhero, the
      Clean Energy Fair will feature hands-on activities to help
      students learn about clean energy, conservation and climate
      stability, and how their everyday energy choices affect the
      environment.

      The Clean Energy Fair will include "stations" on clean air/clean
      transportation; clean water/healthy oceans; Earth; fire; live
      rescued exotic animals; and more. Specific activities scheduled
      for the fair include:

      --  The unveiling of an "Earth Hero Pledge" flag showing "LA's
          Green Power Heroes -- 1,000 Pledges for the Earth."

      --  Student representatives making presentations about specific
          animals selected and researched by each participating school
          as part of what is called the "United Animal Nation"
          conference held during the stage program.

      --  A student-created mosaic of oak leaves to honor "Old Glory,"
          a local 400-year-old heritage oak tree. John Quigley will be
          on hand to talk about his tree-sitting experience.

      --  Art, games and activities related to clean air, clean water
          and other environmental issues.

      --  Celebrity storytelling, plus presentations/entertainment on
          a solar-powered stage.

WHEN: Tuesday, April 22, 2003

      --  9 a.m. to noon: Students circulate and participate in
          activities.

      --  Noon: Stage program begins with honored guests, music and
          the "Animal Nation" conference.

WHERE: Griffith Park, 4730 Crystal Springs Drive, Los Angeles

WHO:   More than 1,000 LAUSD students and their teachers, LADWP's
       colorful Green Power Girl, actor and environmentalist Ed
       Begley, Jr., environmentalist John Quigley and many others,
       including representatives of companies and agencies helping to
       provide exhibits, displays and activities for students.
