Computers, TVs and Other Items to be Collected in Store Parking Lot

Two Days Only - November November: see month.  9 and 10 - 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. each day

What: For two days only, the Best Buy store in South Tampa, Fla.,
will serve as a recycling collection site for unwanted
electronic items. The special event will take place in the
parking lot on Friday, November 9 and Saturday, November 10
        from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. each day.

Most electronics will be collected and recycled at no charge.
Due to the high cost of removing hazardous lead from picture
tubes, there will be a $10 charge for each computer monitor
and a $15 charge for each TV. Staff from Envirocycle, Inc.
will be in the parking lot to remove items directly from
        vehicles.

The event is being co-sponsored by Toshiba America Inc.

        Accepted items:
Computers, monitors, printers, fax machines, TVs, stereos,
        camcorders, cellular phones, VCRs

        Not accepted items:
Microwaves, smoke detectors, major household appliances, such
        as refrigerators and air conditioners

Why: The proper disposal of electronic items is an important issue
for many people. Computers and televisions can contain
materials such as lead and mercury that can be harmful to the
environment if simply thrown in the trash. People wanting to
get rid of electronics while remaining responsible often are
unsure about what to do or where to go.

Best Buy believes that everyone has a part in completing the
recycling loop - that's why the Company has come up with a
simple, fun and convenient program for recycling electronics
that protects the environment while raising awareness of
recycling options. South Tampa is among the first locations in
Best Buy's plan to rollout recycling events nationwide.

      Where: Best Buy store
           1725 N. Dale Mabry Highway
Dale Mabry and I-275, South Tampa

Note: South Tampa store only. No other area Best Buy stores
will serve as recycling collection sites for this event.

When: Friday, November 9 and Saturday, November 10
          10 a.m. to 5 p.m. each day
