News Editors/Assignment Desks

ADVISORY...for Friday-Saturday (Aug. 22-23)

--(BUSINESS WIRE)

Old Computers, TVs and Other Items to be Collected

Two Days Only

What: For two days only, the King of Prussia Best Buy store in the
Philadelphia area, will serve as a recycling collection site
for unwanted electronic items. The special event will take
place in the store parking lot on Friday, August 22 from 10
        am. to 5 p.m. and Saturday, August 23 from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Due to the high cost of removing hazardous lead from picture
tubes, there will be a $10 fee for each computer monitor and
TV and a $20 charge for TVs over 27" and consoles. All other
electronics will be recycled at no charge.

        Accepted items: Not accepted items:
        --------------- -------------------
Computers, monitors, printers, Microwaves, smoke detectors,
fax machines, TVs, stereos, major household appliances,
VCRs, camcorders, cellular such as refrigerators and
        phones, inkjet/printer air conditioners
        cartridges, rechargeable
        batteries

Why: The proper disposal of electronic items is an important issue
for many people. Computers and televisions can contain
materials such as lead and mercury that can be harmful to the
environment if simply thrown in the trash. With 4 to 7 pounds
of lead used to make an average picture tube, a few discarded
TV sets can be as hazardous as a typical car battery. People
wanting to get rid of electronics while remaining responsible
often are unsure about what to do or where to go.

Best Buy believes that everyone has a part in completing the
recycling loop - that's why Best Buy became the first consumer
electronics retailer to have a national recycling program. The
Company started the program in 2001 to provide a simple, fun
and convenient program for recycling electronics that protects
the environment while raising awareness of recycling options.
Best Buy has helped consumers recycle over 800,000 pounds of
electronics in an environmentally responsible way since they
        began their program.
