Oakland Introduces East Bay Tech Community to the Region, Arises as High Tech Capital of the East Bay; Over 30 companies to demonstrate

latest technology, hundreds of techies to convene

     WHO: Spearheading Oakland's technology renaissance, a 150-plus
          group of high-technology companies will launch
          EastBayTech.net, an Oakland Metropolitan Chamber of
          Commerce affiliate dedicated to making the East Bay a
          magnet for technology companies.

     WHAT: Hosted by East Bay anchor tenants, Cybergold and
           DoubleTwist, the EastBayTech.net Launch Party will
           celebrate the growing technology community in the area.
           Companies involved call the East Bay home in cities ranging
           from San Leandro to Concord to Pleasanton. LIVE 105/KITS
           radio station will broadcast from the event while hundreds
           of technology professionals, elected officials and members
           of the media explore their local high technology community.
           Come meet and experience the East Bay technology community.
           The event will feature product demonstrations by dozens of
           East Bay technology firms and give reporters a chance to
           interview the CEOs and key staff of many of the companies
           that are making the East Bay a magnet for start-ups -- as
           well as established companies.
