ADVISORY...for Thursday (April 26)

Up to 50 Boise State University students will compete in the Northern Region Taquito Eating Championship on Thursday, April 26, 12 Noon on the Patio in front of the Student Union (1910 University Drive) to qualify for the 2001 National Taquito Eating Championship Finals.

The male and female who can eat 10 El Monterey Chicken or Shredded shred

1. A long irregular strip that is cut or torn off.

2. A small amount; a particle: not a shred of evidence.

 Beef Flour Taquitos in the fastest time will be declared the Northern Region Winners.

Regional winners will be flown to Chicago to compete in the Finals to be held on May 7, 11:30 a.m. during the Food Marketing Institute (FMI FMI Fondo Monetario Internacional (Spanish: International Monetary Fund)

Dates and Universities for the four Regional competitions are:

Northern Region: April 26: Boise State University

Southern Region: April 17: University of Florida University of Florida is the third-largest university in the United States, with 50,912 students (as of Fall 2006) and has the eighth-largest budget (nearly $1.9 billion per year). UF is home to 16 colleges and more than 150 research centers and institutes.  

Western Region: April 19: California State University, Fresno The campus sits at the foot of the Sierra Nevada mountain range in the San Joaquin Valley. Fresno County is the sixth largest metropolitan area in California. The university is within an hour's drive of many mountain and lake resorts and within a three- or four-hour drive of both Los  

Eastern Region: April 24: Michigan State University Michigan State University, at East Lansing; land-grant and state supported; coeducational; chartered 1855. It opened in 1857 as Michigan Agricultural College, the first state agricultural college.  

Each school will receive a $1,000 scholarship from El Monterey(R) Taquitos who is co-sponsoring the Championship with each participating University. The Boise State University Student Programs Board is co-sponsoring the Northern Region Finals.
