ADVISORY/North Hollywood High School Welcomes Home its National Science Bowl Champions.

WHAT:        A rally will be held to congratulate and honor
             the North Hollywood High School National Science
             Bowl champions. The five-member team, representing
             the Los Angeles Department of Water and Power,
             defeated Troy High School of Fullerton, Calif., on May 7
             to take the national title at the competition held
             in Washington, D.C. The team has won an
             all-expense-paid, two-week trip to London to study
             science this summer.

WHO:         Members of the North Hollywood Science Bowl team, and
             their coach, Len Soloff.  Team members include Jeffrey
             Zira, captain; Daniel Bersohn, Jeanne Shen, David Lee
             and Julia Hu.

WHEN:        Tuesday, May 8, 2001
             12:30 p.m.

WHERE:       North Hollywood High School - Quad area
             5231 Colfax (Colfax and Magnolia)
             North Hollywood, Calif.

The Los Angeles Department of Water and Power is the only utility
in the nation that serves as a coordinating regional sponsor for the
National Science Bowl program. North Hollywood High School qualified
for the competition by winning the DWP Science Bowl regional
tournament in February. With this year's win, North Hollywood has
brought Los Angeles its fourth national title in the Science Bowl in
seven years, the best record of any region or state in the nation
participating in this national competition sponsored by the U.S.
Department of Energy.
