WHAT: Nominations are now open for the 7th Annual Deloitte & Touche
Technology Fast 500 and Fast 50 programs. The Fast 500 ranks
the fastest growing technology companies in North America. The
Fast 50 is a regional ranking of the fastest growing
technology companies in 22 regions in the United States and
Canada.
HOW: Winners are selected based on the percentage of growth in
revenues from 1996 to 2000 (five-year period). To be
considered, Fast 500 and Fast 50 entrants must meet the
following criteria:
-- Be a technology company, defined as developing proprietary
technology which contributes to a significant portion of
the company's operating revenues; manufacturing a
technology-related product; or devoting a high percentage
of effort to research and development of technology.
-- Have 1996 year operating revenues of at least $50,000 USD
($75,000 CD) and 2000 operating revenues of at least
$1 million (USD and CD).
-- Be in business a minimum of five years.
-- Have headquarters within the geographic boundaries. For
the Fast 500, companies must be based in North America.
For Fast 50 programs, visit www.fast50.com for the
individual geographic boundary requirements. Subsidiaries
or division are not eligible (unless they have some public
ownership and are separately traded).
In addition, Deloitte & Touche will recognize 10 "Rising
Star" winners, chosen from companies that have been in
business three or four years. Criteria to be eligible for the
"Rising Star" status is the same as the Fast 500, except the
designation is based on percentage revenue growth over three
years (1998 to 2000).
These companies will be recognized as "Rising Stars" on their
way to becoming Technology Fast 500 winners.
Companies can nominate themselves or be nominated by a third
party. Winners are ranked by Deloitte & Touche based strictly
on percentage of revenue growth.
WHEN: Nominations are due by May 15, 2001. Fast 500 winners
will be announced in November 2001. Fast 50 announcement
