The Newspaper Association of America The Newspaper Association of America is a United States trade association that represents the country's largest daily newspapers and provides services including market research, technology education and support, minority hiring and representing publishers in Washington, D.C.  will name the winners of the 2003 ATHENA Awards for creative excellence in newspaper advertising on Wednesday, Sept. 24, 2003, at The One Club in New York City New York City: see New York, city.

More than 1,000 entries were submitted to this year's ATHENA competition (Award To Honor Excellence in Newspaper Advertising), which has been expanded with new categories and competitions. The Grand Prize winner will receive $100,000; the ATHENA Retail Grand Prize winner will receive $25,000; and the student winner in the general advertising category will receive a $5,000 award.
