A News Conference will be held on Thursday, February 14, at 10 a.m. on the site of what would have been the Elsmere Canyon Landfill near Santa Clarita Santa Clarita, city (1990 pop. 110,642), Los Angeles co., S Calif., suburb 30 mi (48 km) NW of downtown Los Angeles, on the Santa Clara River; inc. 1987. Situated in the Santa Clara valley and nearby canyons, Santa Clarita includes the former towns of Canyon Country,  to announce new charges that are being included in a lawsuit filed by a widow and a group of small investors against waste industry giants, BKK BKK Bangkok

The lawsuit involves alleged improprieties by BKK and BFI to breach a contract and defraud the investors out of millions of dollars owed to them for the Elsmere Canyon Landfill as well as alleged collusion by BKK and BFI for failing to develop the landfill in order to ensure the expansion of the highly controversial Sunshine Canyon Landfill.

As a result of finding new documents, which were contained in filing cabinets, discovered since the lawsuit was originally filed in 1998, new causes of action were added to an amended complaint amended complaint n. what results when the party suing (plaintiff or petitioner) changes the complaint he/she has filed. It must be in writing, and can be done before the complaint is served on any defendant, by agreement between the parties (usually their lawyers),  which will be filed on February 14. Highlighting the new charges is an allegation of racketeering Traditionally, obtaining or extorting money illegally or carrying on illegal business activities, usually by Organized Crime . A pattern of illegal activity carried out as part of an enterprise that is owned or controlled by those who are engaged in the illegal activity.  as defined in the Racketeering Influenced Corrupt Organizations (R.I.C.O) Act which involves BKK's and BFI's use of United States United States, officially United States of America, republic (2005 est. pop. 295,734,000), 3,539,227 sq mi (9,166,598 sq km), North America. Among the other new charges added to the complaint were Fraud and Negligent Misrepresentation misrepresentation

WHERE:   Open Field in Elsmere Canyon on San Fernando Road off
         Interstate 14

         (Directions:  Travel Interstate 5 North to Sacramento, then
         take Interstate 14 East to the first exit, San Fernando Road.
         Turn right at bottom of offramp and proceed approximately
         100 yards until San Fernando Road dead ends into a "park and
         ride" area. News Conference will be held there.)
