WHAT:   FDA has approved LADARVISION(R) System, for customized
        wavefront-guided laser eye surgery in the treatment of
        nearsightedness. This highly customized approach creates a new
        laser eye surgery procedure called CustomLASIK that improves
        both visual acuity, and the overall quality of vision, such as
        increased visual crispness and clarity.

WHO:    Dr. Thomas S. Tooma, one of the clinical investigators for the
        FDA is available to comment on this new technology. Dr. Tooma
        is a world-renowned Ophthalmologist and has performed over 40k
        LASIK surgeries. Dr. Tooma, Medical Director of TLC Laser Eye
        Centers (www.tlcvision.com), is one of the first surgeons
        nationwide to receive this newly approved system.

WHY:    Dr. Tooma will perform the first FDA approved CustomLASIK
        procedure on Friday, January 17, 2003.
