WHAT:    On May 23, 2003, The FDA approved the VISX (NYSE:EYE)
         WaveScan(TM) system for customized wavefront-guided laser
         eye surgery in the treatment of nearsightedness. This highly
         customized approach creates a new laser eye surgery procedure
         called CustomLASIK that improves both visual acuity, and the
         overall quality of vision, such as increased visual crispness
         and clarity.

WHO:     Renowned San Diego ophthalmologists, Dr. David S. Schanzlin
         and Dr. Forrest P. Murphy, are available to comment on this
         new technology. TLC Laser Eye Centers located in La Jolla
