will present a $500,000 grant to the YMCA of Greater
New York
The grant will be used to develop community computer
centers in five New York City YMCAs.

WHY THIS IS IMPORTANT:
These Community Computer Centers will fill a crucial void in New
York City communities: they will offer children the opportunity to
learn basic computer skills, while also serving them in the crucial
after-school hours. New York Life Foundation is funding Community
Computer Centers at YMCAs in Harlem, The Bronx, Jamaica (Queens),
Prospect Park (Brooklyn) and Staten Island.
