Valeo, a leading supplier of innovative components, systems, and modules for cars and trucks, has upgraded its Climatic Vehicle Wind Tunnel wind tunnel, apparatus for studying the interaction between a solid body and an airstream. A wind tunnel simulates the conditions of an aircraft in flight by causing a high-speed stream of air to flow past a model of the aircraft (or part of an aircraft) being tested.  in Jamestown, N.Y., to support the testing of heavy trucks powered by the biggest available engines.

The wind tunnel now features a water-brake dynamometer dynamometer /dy·na·mom·e·ter/ (di?nah-mom´e-ter) an instrument for measuring the force of muscular contraction.

 that increases the facility's testing capabilities to include engines that develop up to 1,500 horsepower horsepower, unit of power in the English system of units.
