WOODBRIDGE, N.J.

Environmental officials and representatives of New Jersey gas and electric utilities will hold a press conference at the New Jersey Association of Energy Engineers New Jersey Energy Futures Forum on Wednesday, April 18, to mark the start of the State's recently approved renewable energy Renewable energy utilizes natural resources such as sunlight, wind, tides and geothermal heat, which are naturally replenished. Renewable energy technologies range from solar power, wind power, and hydroelectricity to biomass and biofuels for transportation.  and energy efficiency programs.

The press conference, New Jersey Programs For Renewable Energy and Energy Efficiency: A New Era in Leadership, to be held at 12:00 p.m., will be the Forum's luncheon program. It will include representatives from the National Resources Defense Council, the New Jersey Department of Environmental Protection The New Jersey Department of Environmental Protection (NJDEP) is a government agency in the U.S. state of New Jersey that is responsible for managing the state's natural resources and addressing issues related to pollution. NJDEP now has a staff of approximately 3,400.  and a panel of utility representatives.

The New Jersey Energy Futures Forum features a number of sessions on a wide variety of energy and energy related topics. The Forum and press conference are being held at the Woodbridge Sheraton in Iselin, New Jersey Iselin (pronounced IZ-lin) is a census-designated place and unincorporated area within Woodbridge Township, in Middlesex County, New Jersey, United States.
