News Editors/Assignment Desks

ADVISORY...for Saturday-Monday (Nov. 1-3)

--(BUSINESS WIRE)

INVITATION TO MEDIA:

Natus Medical Inc. recently received 510(k) clearance from the U.S.
Food and Drug Administration to market its new ALGO(R) 3i Newborn
Hearing Screener. Natus is scheduled to demonstrate the ALGO 3i device
at the American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP) National Conference and
Exhibition in New Orleans, Louisiana November 1-3, 2003.

You are invited to speak with experts in newborn hearing screening,
and view demonstrations of the new ALGO 3i device that are scheduled
to take place at the AAP conference as follows:

                  Ernest N. Morial Convention Center
                        New Orleans, Louisiana
                     Natus Medical -- Booth #1305
            November 1, 3pm - 7pm; November 2, 10am - 4pm;
                        November 3, 10am - 4pm

BACKGROUND:

The ALGO 3i device is a compact hand-held hearing screener, designed
for healthcare providers to screen newborns in a variety of settings,
such as hospitals, clinics, and private residences.

Hearing impairment is the most common disability in newborns,
affecting approximately 12,000 babies born in the United States each
year. Studies show that children who are detected with a hearing
impairment at birth and receive the appropriate intervention have the
opportunity to develop vocabulary at the same rate as their normal
hearing peers. Consequently, more than 37 states have legislative
mandates requiring hospitals to screen all babies for hearing loss
before they leave the hospital.

An increasing number of countries have recognized the significance of
early detection of hearing loss, and have made newborn hearing
screening a standard patient care practice.

For over 14 years, Natus Medical has developed devices designed
specifically for newborn hearing screening. ALGO screeners are
currently installed in 24 countries, and have screened over 10 million
babies worldwide. Due to its unique hand-held size and versatile
screening features, the new ALGO 3i screener is expected to meet the
newborn hearing screening needs of healthcare providers on a global
basis.
