New Conference Board Study Will Announce First Findings Of Comprehensive Study on Corporate Response to Security Issues

The Conference Board, the world's leading business research group, will announce findings from a joint study Wednesday, July 9, at 10:00 a.m., at the National Press Club in Washington, D.C. The study is the first comprehensive report made on security spending patterns by companies in the wake of September 11. ASIS International, the preeminent organization for security professionals worldwide, sponsored the study.

Participants at the news briefing will include Tom Cavanagh, The Conference Board's security expert and author of the study. Also participating will be Jack Lichtenstein, ASIS' director of Government Affairs and Public Policy, along with three other ASIS members: Marene Allison, Director of Security for Avaya Inc., Regis W. Becker, CPP, Global Director of Security and Compliance for PPG Industries, Inc., and Don W. Walker, CPP, Chairman of Securitas Security Services, USA, Inc.

The study will present the experiences of more than 330 corporate security directors, risk managers, and security officers in a wide variety of American firms. The findings show spending patterns according to company size and type of company, and will also include a special look at the soaring costs of insurance and risk management.
