People new to poker can learn a great deal from Mike Sexton
and Andy Bloch. Sexton has transformed his passion for poker
into several thriving business ventures. He writes a column
for CardPlayer magazine. In collaboration with PartyPoker.com
and Linda Johnson, he launched The Party Poker Million, which
allows people to play tournaments online in order to win a
cruise and entry into a million-dollar tournament on a
CardPlayer Cruise. Sexton also conceived of and created the
"Tournament of Champions of Poker," setting a new standard for
poker tournaments. And, of course, he still actively plays
poker.
The World Poker Tour television series which airs on Wednesday
nights at 9pm, has transformed the great American card game
into a televised sports sensation. Revolutionary technology
revealing players' hidden cards and expert commentary from
Sexton enables viewers to feel like they are in the seat
making million-dollar decisions on every hand.
Andy Bloch has been in the hot seat before and is no stranger
to the WPT. Bloch is a high stakes poker player with two
engineering degrees from MIT and a law degree from Harvard Law
