ADVISORY/National Colorectal Cancer Awareness Month 2003.

Business Editors/Health/Medical Writers

ADVISORY...for March

--(BUSINESS WIRE)

What: NATIONAL COLORECTAL CANCER AWARENESS MONTH 2003

When: March 2003

Who: EXACT Sciences, a Massachusetts-based applied genomics
company has developed a new non-invasive screening test for
the early detection of colorectal cancer that will be
commercially available in a few months. Colorectal cancer
screening rates among adults aged 50 and older are
surprisingly low and men and women of all ages need to
understand that regular screening is the key to detecting and
curing colorectal cancer. In fact, according to the American
Cancer Society, survival rates for colorectal cancer are as
high as 95 percent with early detection.

The new test is called PreGen-Plus(TM) and will provide a more
        sensitive, completely non-invasive screening option.
PreGen-Plus analyzes DNA extracted from a stool sample for
abnormalities associated with colorectal cancer. The test will
be ordered by physicians, and - in contrast to currently
available screening methods - requires no special bowel
preparation, stool handling or diet alterations, and samples
can be collected in the privacy of one's own home. More
importantly, PreGen-Plus is accurate in detecting actual
disease. Multiple studies have demonstrated PreGen-Plus'
ability to detect colorectal cancer at its earliest stages,
with a low rate of false positives.

PreGen-Plus holds immense promise as a first-line screening
method from which people will not shy away. It is EXACT
Sciences' belief that by removing some of the common barriers
associated with current screening methods, more people will be
screened for colorectal cancer and, thus, more lives will be
        saved.

As the need to further educate the public during March and
throughout the year on the importance of early screening for
colorectal cancer is vital, we invite you to interview an
EXACT Sciences representative, physician or patient for a
story on screening. Please contact Amy Turner or Kate Jennings
at the numbers below to arrange an interview or for more
        information on PreGen-Plus.
