WHY:
As medical research continues to document the benefits of
breastfeeding for both babies and mothers, an increasing amount of
mothers are choosing to breastfeed their babies. To help support
breastfeeding mothers who return to work, new legislation is being
passed in many states, including New York, that requires employers to
make accommodations for mothers to pump their milk in the workplace.
