Services" at Three-Day Conference on Rich Media Collaboration

Andrea Basso, System Architect at NMS See NetWare Management System.  Communications, will discuss the 3G-324M for wireless video messaging and streaming services, and the implications for the design of applications that run such services, at the upcoming International Multimedia Telecommunications Consortium (IMTC) Forum being held in San Jose San Jose, city, United States

, CA May 18 - 20. The IMTC is comprised of companies dedicated to the advancement of real-time rich media communications. The Forum is a periodic event focused on networking, technology updates and collaboration.

What: 3G-324M is an umbrella standard for wireless video
communications that was created to satisfy the stringent
        requirements of real-time, low-delay interactive
conversational video services. Nevertheless it is, in
practice, employed to enable a variety of multimedia services
beyond conversational services such as messaging and
        streaming.

The unification of this variety of services under the same
umbrella protocol has significance for the design of the
supporting architectures and associated media and signaling
components, as well as for the design of the applications that
run such services. The talk will discuss the technical and
market considerations surrounding the deployment of wireless
video and messaging applications and identify optimal
        approaches for different circumstances.
