Business & Lifestyle Editors

ADVISORY...for Wednesday Wednesday: see week.  (April 25)

--(BUSINESS WIRE)

WHAT: For news-media crews who could not attend the 10 a.m.,
April 25 introduction or those who would like to report
during live newscasts, the Monrovia Police Department is
offering additional "ride-along" opportunities throughout the
day for a new, high-tech traffic-signal warning system
designed to protect motorists when emergency vehicles speed
through intersections. Developed by E-ViEWS Safety Systems
Inc. with assistance from NASA/JPL, the system utilizes
         advanced intersection-signal pre-emption technology and
lighted warning signs with flashing icons.

WHO: Monrovia Police Department officers and E-ViEWS Safety
         Systems managers.

WHEN: Wednesday, April 25
         Noon to 10 p.m.
Please call 818/371-2077 to confirm your "ride-along"
         appointment time.

WHERE: Four Points by Sheraton Hotel parking lot
         700 W. Huntington Drive
         Monrovia, Calif. 91016
         626/357-5211
         (L.A. Thomas Guide, page 567 F-5)

WHY: In the United States, emergency vehicles are involved in
15,000 accidents annually while responding to calls,
resulting in 500 fatalities and 8,000 injuries. The emergency
vehicle early-warning safety system was developed by E-ViEWS
to save lives, prevent injuries and speed services.

VISUALS: The news media are invited to ride along in Monrovia police
and fire vehicles during a "Code 3" demonstration of the
E-ViEWS system on Huntington Drive. Visuals will include fire
trucks and police cars, with lights and sirens operating,
racing through pre-empted signals and flashing warning signs.
