WHO:        Lila Downs' sultry and exotic world vocals have captivated
            sold-out audiences at the Sacred Music Festival at the
            Hollywood Bowl, the World's Fair in Lisbon, and throughout
            France and Mexico. Quickly becoming an artistic
            phenomenon, she is now ready to take the world by storm as
            she performs songs from her latest project "Border," at
            Virgin Megastore, Chicago.

WHAT:       Daughter of a Mixtec Indian woman and an Anglo-American

            the ancient languages of the Mixtec and Zapotec people and
            puts them to music. Downs bridges the past and present
            with stirring songs drawn from the folklore and history of
            a culture steeped in passion, heartache, tradition and
            pride. Now Lila Downs will be on hand to perform for her
            American fans and to sign copies of her latest CD
