KEY SPEAKERS: - Colonel George E. "Bud" Day, USAF (Ret.) - attorney,
one of the most highly decorated military officers
since GEN MacArthur, Medal of Honor recipient and
                former North Vietnam POW

WHY: Colonel Bud Day has been fighting the government for
more than six years to restore free, lifetime medical
care promised to military retirees. In November 2002,
the U.S. Court of Appeals upheld a 1998 district court
ruling and affirmed that recruiter promises were not
backed by statute and, therefore, not legally binding.
Colonel Day and the Class Act Group - representing more
than 22,000 individuals who have made cash donations to
help this cause disagree with the Appeals Court - are
taking their case to the U.S. Supreme Court. The
medical benefits of more than 1.5 million retirees are
              at stake.
