      What: Windows XP is here! Microsoft's highly anticipated new PC
        operating system is available on Thursday, October 25.
        Starting at 10 a.m., all Best Buy stores will carry the
        packaged software of Windows XP Home Edition (upgrade version
        $99.99, full version $199.99) and Windows XP Professional
        (upgrade version $199.99, full version at $299.99).

          In anticipation of media interest, news organizations in need
        of a PC/software retail location for Windows XP stories are
        welcome at Best Buy stores on October 25. Call contact to
        arrange a time and store location (please do not call stores
        directly).

          Built on an enhanced Windows 2000 engine, the Windows XP
        operating system enables exciting new experiences that give
        users the freedom to unlock the possibilities of the digital
        world. Windows XP extends the role of the PC by acting as an
        integration point of the Web, in the home, on the move and at
        work. Windows XP digital media features make it easier to
        capture and share life's memories with more creativity and
        fewer clicks.

          For a limited time, customers acquiring Windows XP at Best Buy
        will be able to have the new operating system installed onto
        their PCs for free, (a $59.99 value), and also will receive
        all of the following items for free: 128 MB or 256 MB of
        memory (a $39.99 or $79.99 value), a D-Link cable/DSL router
        (a $99.99 value), a Rio One MP3 Player (a $99.99 value) and a
        music CD of their choice, priced up to $15.
