WHAT: During a two-week period, 30,000 "Take a Potato to Work!"
lunch bags will be distributed to commuters in downtown
San Francisco. The bags will contain potatoes, buttermilk
ranch dressing, recipe ideas and tips on how to micro-bake
a potato in less than 10 minutes, providing office workers
with an ideal, healthful lunchtime alternative to fast
food or sandwiches. In honor of the humble potato, Mayor
Brown officially declared February 5 - the first day of
this spud-tacular promotion - "Take a Potato to Work!"
            Day.

      WHEN: February 5 - February 23, 2001 (Mondays - Fridays)

WHERE: Downtown commuter areas throughout San Francisco, Calif.
Please contact the number below for the exact location
            each day.

WHY: To celebrate "America's favorite vegetable," "Take a
Potato to Work!" demonstrates how fast and easy a
delicious micro-baked potato is to prepare. Topped with
ingredients such as canned chili, low-fat cheese and sour
cream, baked potatoes can be the basis for an entire
            healthful, convenient meal.

WHO: National Potato Promotion Board (NPPB). The NPPB was
established in 1971 by a group of potato growers

by educating people about their convenience, versatility,
            value and nutrition.

commuter location each day of its two-week duration. For exact
locations each day, please contact Josh Mendlinger or Joanna Stovall
