tourists who flew over on Virgin Atlantic Airways for
free, including Firemen who are raising money for
their colleagues in New York.
WHAT: A United We Stand Tribute to New Yorkers and America
from Sir Richard Branson and 400 British tourists in
"I Love NY" T-Shirts, with Mayor Giuliani, heeding
his advice to come to the "greatest city in the
world" - live your lives - see a show, spend your
money. As a gesture of solidarity with the people of
New York the Virgin Atlantic Airways aircraft has
been renamed 'The Spirit of New York'.
WHERE: Sir Richard Branson and British tourists will meet
outside Times Square Virgin Megastore at 11:00 AM
(Broadway - between 44th / 45th) in a double decker
bus for photo op before departing for City Hall to
meet with Mayor Giuliani at 1:00 PM in the Blue
Room. (News crew to assemble on the center island or
to meet at City Hall).

WHY: Sir Richard Branson, Virgin Atlantic Airways and The
Sun Newspapers sponsored a contest to the US in
support of New York City - freedom and democracy.
Virgin Atlantic Airways provided free round trip
flights. The passengers on this flight should generate
approximately $1,000,000 in revenue for the city. With
this trip we hope to help promote tourism, boost the
economy and show solidarity between our two countries.
