            the change of the company's name to Dell Inc. from Dell
            Computer Corporation.

            Shareholders Friday approved a proposal to change the
            company's formal corporate name to Dell Inc. The name
            change reflects Dell's evolution from strictly supplying
            computer hardware to providing a diverse range of
            technology products and services. Recognition of the
            "Dell" brand has grown to where the company is now simply
            known as "Dell."

WHEN:       Effective immediately, Dell Inc. is the company's formal
