MIDDLETOWN, Pa.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Jan. 4, 2001

A Mt. Lebanon resident starts off the New Year receiving a cash windfall.

Ronald E. Michaels, 60, of Allegheny County was the winner of the November 23, 2000, CASH 5 game jackpot.

Mr. Michaels will receive his Lottery check for $572,720.50 - less 28 percent federal withholding - during a formal presentation at 10 a.m. Friday, January 5, 2001, at the Cochran A - Plus, located on 1630 Cochran Road, Pittsburgh, where he purchased the winning ticket.

Presenting Ronald his CASH 5 winnings check will be the Lottery's Director of Public Relations public relations, activities and policies used to create public interest in a person, idea, product, institution, or business establishment. By its nature, public relations is devoted to serving particular interests by presenting them to the public in the most  Sally Danyluk, Pittsburgh Area Supervisor Eric Grubbs and District Lottery Representative Terri Hopkins.

 Ronald, he plays CASH 5 when it reaches $500,000. Ronald always uses preselected numbers consisting of his family's birthdates. He recalls, "I was on my way to play racquetball racquetball, sport played indoors by two or four players, combining elements of court handball and such racket games as squash racquets. It is played on a standard handball court 40 ft (12.2 m) long, 20 ft (6.  and I drove right past Cochran's A - Plus, so, I turned around and played my numbers before my match." "I compared my numbers on the ticket to the five winning numbers I wrote down," he remembers. "I yelled to Michele, `Look at this!' and she asked me what that meant. I told her we won a share of the CASH 5 jackpot." It turns out that Mr. Michaels held the only winning jackpot ticket for the November 23, 2000, drawing.

As for his Lottery winnings, Mr. Michaels and his wife will build a new home and plan to share the wealth with their five children and five grandchildren GRANDCHILDREN, domestic relations. CASH 5 drawings take place every night at 7 p.m. Tickets are $1 per play and may be purchased up to seven days in advance. To play CASH 5, players select five numbers from 1 to 39.

Players must match all five winning numbers drawn to win the top prize, which starts at $100,000 and rolls in increments of $100,000 minimum.
